Too Good To Bad Domain Names

Your domain name is something that is very important to you if you plan to make a website for whatever reason. It will be your virtual identity so you should make it as informative as possible, catchy and interesting if you want to reel in viewers to your site. Of course, it should also be easy to remember so that people will not have a hard time remembering your website. A happy balance with all of these will do wonders when you’re trying to promote your site. Of course you would want to avoid having a name worthy of the title worst domain names ever, lest you want to be the butt of internet jokes and have zero hits to your website.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of websites out there whose URL’s are worthy of the title worst domain names. Either the webmaster did not think it was possible for the name to be misinterpreted, they are truly naive regarding the implied double meaning, or just simply made a mistake – a very big and erroneous mistake at that. A few of the worst domains that can be found residing in cyber space are the following:

· Expertsexchange is a website where programmers can exchange ideas with one another and help other experts in their field of knowledge. Simply put, it is where Experts Exchange ideas. However, if read wrongly sounds like Expert Sex Change. Truly this is something far off from the intended goals of the site but certainly one of the contenders for the title.

· Penisland is a website that sells pens. Of course, this can be read in a different way and is surprising that the web owners of this site didn’t notice or probably could not think of a better name.

· Therapistfinder is a website wherein you can find a therapist to help you. If read differently, sounds like the rapist finder. Again, another contender for the worst domain names title.

· Powergenitalia is the website for the infamous Italian Generation Power Company. They probably aren’t aware of what it means in English, but if you took time consider other languages, especially the most used globally and online, you’d notice that this is surely a domain name that should have the title one of the worst domain names ever.

There are a lot more of these websites that is worthy to belong under the banner of the worst domain names. Don’t fall for the same mistake and think thoroughly before registering your own name so as not to belong in the worst domain names category. Make sure that your domain name will not be misunderstood or will not have any dirty double meanings. Not only is it funny but it will turn off potential viewers of your site either by the gross dirty joke or the sheer unprofessional conduct of the makers of the website. Don’t try to be witty and make a website that reeks of toilet humour lest you want to belong to the worst domain names also. Unless of course, your website is merely a jokes page then that’ll be a different story.
